This week was marked by several happy endings. After Barnes & Noble announced that it would close its bookstore in the Bronx, the Borough’s last bricks-and-mortar store, it reversed its decision and will stay for at least another two years.

Across the pond, Waterstones followed up on all the excitement after an American tourist got trapped in its Trafalgar Square store. It teamed up with Airbnb to let ten lucky book lovers spend the night at Waterstones Piccadilly.

Stadium Bookstore to Close: Nebraska Book Co. plans to close Stadium Bookstore in Charleston, W.V., which had been an alternative to the Marshall University Bookstore, at the end of the month.

McClure’s Bookstore to Close, Boomerang to Open: Kathi and Ken McClure may have closed their used-book business in Clemson, S.C., after 11 years, but former employee Sam Ramsay plans to open a bookstore of his own.
